As long as your chapter is more in line with the made up reality it will still work, and if need be, and he ever feels like it, 18 can be retroactively corrected to match what happens further down the lines. Consider 18 a draft and in not binding on any small continuity problems (such as them being miners instead of doing menial lab work). In fact we probably want to keep that general idea in regards to all chapters.
